Description

My first PC built from the ground up. Mainly an upgrade from the prebuilt I had originally and with money I've earned working as a line cook during the pandemic. Mainly used for a mix between gaming and music production. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the performance of each part and there really wasn't any issues at all in the process of building the pc.

A solid PC for someone with a reasonable budget.

Part Reviews

CPU

Can't really complain at all with this CPU. I haven't tried OCing yet, so I can't really say how it will fare there. But at stock level, it's been able to power through everything I've thrown at it with spades. Also, not a bad price where it currently sits in my personal opinion.

CPU Cooler

Does wonders cooling my CPU, keeping it at a nice 55C even when under load. It also has a very sleek and attractive design and includes one of the best RGB software to date. Only possible con would be that the radiator fans can be a bit noticeably loud, however it's never loud enough to actually be considered an issue.

Motherboard

I mainly went with this motherboard simply because I needed one with WiFi and this was the only one I could find that had a pretty solid reputation. I definitely understand why though, plenty of USB ports and the design is very clean and cool-looking. Not to mention the RGB is a nice bonus. The BIOS isn't anything special, but it's pretty easy to do what you need with it. The only possible issue I found is that the top of the motherboard is a bit thick which may make it hard to install case fans at the top of certain PC cases.

Memory

Probably the most budget friendly way to get a nice 32gb of RAM onto your PC. No complaints. Defaults at 2133MGhz, but that can be changed in your BIOS if you actually need it

Storage

Very impressive piece of storage. Put your OS on this and it will take mere seconds to start up your PC. Easy to install and have not had any issue with it yet.

Storage

Nothing to write home about, but it is pretty fast for a HDD and perfect for storing large files and massive 200gb games. Disk is a little noisy, but that is to be expected with any HDD

Video Card

Able to run any game I play quite effortlessly and at a price point that is well worth the bang for your buck. Fans stop when idle and don't make too much noise when under load, while keeping the card at a respectable 75C. The only big issue I had is with the RGB Software (Dragon Center) which is quite possibly the worst possible software I've ever used. I'm happy to settle without it, however the RGB will stay in it's normal rainbow wave pattern.

Case

Pretty roomy and well organized case that does what it needs to. Design looks sharp and the ability to change the color of your power button is a cute touch. Cable management with this case was a breeze. Only issue I came across was the fact that there isn't much room from the top of the case and the top of an ATX motherboard, meaning there is no way you can mount a full water cooling radiator at the top of the case. Still a great case aside from that.

Power Supply

Perfect PSU with know issues seen as of yet. Cables fit nicely and it's modular which makes cable management a breeze.

the fact that you built that system mostly off of restaurant tips is damn impressive. And the build itself looks really nice for something that is a little over 1000 dollars, Congrats.

I think the price was closer to 1.6k, the graphics card price isn't factored into the build price for some reason.

Did you buy a 2060 super for 600$?

$450usd actually. I bought it when the price was actually pretty low and was able to grab it before it sold out the next morning... the price has definitely went up quite a bit since

I have the same hard drive as you, but mine is making strange noises. My hard drive makes a rumbling like noise, kinda like popcorn popping when heating up. Is this noise normal with this drive? Does yours make this noise?
